This twirling ballerina was found among Connolly Estate Items and likely dates from the 1940s or earlier. Maybe a gift when my Grandfather was the Chief of Police in Sound Bend in the 1930s or owned by Spinster Aunts from Michigan.

Peggy Lane Connolly 1922 to 2012

Peggy Connolly died of cardiac tamponade last summer after living at Solbakken, Inc. Residential Care for nearly 3 years (Obituary). She was short of her 90th birthday.
On Mother's Day 2013 I am reminded that my Mother was "smart as a whip" as she would say. One of her Indiana Aphorisms. At the National Library of Medicine she has more citations than Coleman J. Connolly, Jr., M.D.

For almost 10 years she wrote monthly menus for Nursing Homes Magazine and had recipes tested by Registered Dietitians prior to publication. I remember her agonizingly planning every meal out on a paper calendar prior to submission. I didn't realize that she was writing a topical article each time as well.  This PubMed (National Library of Medicine) bibliography is a partial documentation of this work.
